Position Summary

The Motion Graphics Supervisor is responsible for managing a small motion graphics team that creates motion graphic elements in-store and online video programs, digital signage, pilots, pitches, and special projects as directed. This position is full-time, on site at our Sherman Oaks, CA location. Only applicants who provide links to their demo reel will be considered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following is a list of general job responsibilities for the Motion Graphics Supervisor position. This list is not all-inclusive and may be broadened or changed to meet changing business needs.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of graphics team, delegate tasks and set deadlines
  • Create an inspiring team environment emphasizing excellence
  • Promote an open communication culture
  • Work with producers to define creative direction
  • Design and animate graphics for in-store networks. Examples include: experiential GFX segments, digital signage, advertisements/promos, show/segment intros, bumpers, interstitials, bugs, lower 3rds, and transitions.
  • Adjust and improve production workflows to deliver quality projects within deadlines and budgets
  • Create original designs that complement clients’ branding by integrating client supplied logos, color palettes, print ads, video segments
  • Design and animate graphics for music videos, digital signage, commercials, trailers, and various short format segments
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with producers and clients to guide projects towards intended goals
  • Maintain asset file structures and project organization to enable each team member to move easily from one project to the next
  • Assist management with special projects and internal assignments
  • Organize team training
  • Assist in recruitment and integration new team members
  • Coordinate the hiring of freelance help when needed

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited art school or university
  • Eight (8) or more years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience coordinating and managing creative teams
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Cinema 4D and related plugins and modules.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Flash, HTML5, InDesign and 3D Max an advantage
  • Ability to draw or storyboards an advantage

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Highly creative with strong communication skills
  • Provide demo reel and be able to break down and explain project involvement
  • Good design, layout, typography and color theory skills
  • Familiar with video file formats, frame rates, unorthodox aspect ratios and multi-screen configurations
  • Conceptual thinker and visual problem solver
  • Excellent organizational, project management and leadership skills
  • Must be able to accurately generate weekly progress reports
  • Able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven team environment.
