Description
We're looking for someone who knows how to tell a story with key frames. Someone who can make characters pop off the screen. Someone who can inspire emotion through movement. In this role, you'll be joining a talented team of art directors and motion designers, helping us to connect with audiences through animation. You'll be expected to do all kinds of animation (motion design, cel animation, stop motion, etc.) but mostly we're looking for a character specialist to round out the team. Ideally, someone who can get a good performance out of rigged and hand-drawn characters.
Our small studio started 11 years ago with a simple mission: make beautiful things, tell stories that are worth telling, and make a difference. And we've succeeded! We work with some of the biggest non-profits and brands and (for some reason) they keep coming back for more. Help us make the world a more awesome place with motion graphics and animation. Make us better artists and storytellers by working with us. We're excited to meet you.
Requirements
More than a specific set of experiences, we're looking for someone who is passionate about making things move beautifully and about telling stories with video. If your portfolio makes that passion clear, go ahead and click "Apply" right now.
To do this job well, you will need to:
- Be proficient in Adobe Animate or Toon Boom.
- Have some experience in analog techniques like mixed media, stop motion, etc.
- Share our desire to tell stories that matter, and to leave the world a better place than you found it.
- Take criticism well, and always use it to make the work better.
- Be organized, comfortable with fast turnarounds, and work well with a team.
- Understand how to quickly develop and implement a style for projects, campaigns, and spec pitches.
- Be proficient in After Effects and Illustrator...Cinema 4D is optional but a huge plus.
- Have a library of motion reference shot on your phone because you just can't stop thinking about how things move.
- Enjoy remote work. Our offices closed in March of this year and will be closed for at least a year, so this is critical.
Benefits
The biggest benefit is the chance to do something wonderful: To make wonderful things for a living and hang out with people who feel the same way you do about design and telling stories.
Other benefits:
- Competitive salary.
- Health, vision, dental, 401(k).
- Build your portfolio with top national and international nonprofits and brands.
- Trainings / workshops / conferences.
