Mid-Weight Motion Designer

The Team

Golin’s in-house motion team is made up of Videographers, Motion Designers and Project Managers. We create live-action videos, animations and stop motion content for a variety of channels. We have a great client-base, lots of opportunity and a desire to grow and develop our team in 2017.

The Role

We are looking for a mid-weight Motion Designer to join us. You should have a wealth of experience in an agency environment or similar. You should be a confident leader on the Motion Graphics side, generating strong ideas and developing awe-inspiring animations that deliver the objectives of the client brief.

We’re looking for someone with an eye for movement and a good sense of style. You should be able to confidently present your ideas and give solid reasoning for the decisions behind the creative. Line management experience and an ability to help more junior members of the team is also required.

Knowledge & Skills

  • A mastery of Creative Suite applications.
  • Be able to generate strong ideas and contribute to team brainstorms for client work and new business
  • Be able to manage your own time on a project to ensure you achieve deadlines
  • Be organized enough to understand the workload and deadlines of junior team members and to help ensure they stay on track as well as your own
  • Be able to advise on project workflow to achieve the best results
  • Demonstrate a developed visual vocabulary (layout, typography, design).
  • Proactively contribute to ideation and content creation that gain client approval and support.
  • Demonstrate increased knowledge of your client’s business and their creative expectations.
  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to package ideas in a clear, logical and persuasive manner.
  • Stay abreast of what is happening in your industry and be proactive in sharing this information across the team
  • Contribute to multiple design projects at one time.
  • Communicate ongoing status updates to your creative lead and account teams.
  • Know which questions to ask the account team/client to develop great content and ideas.
  • Be able to defend your ideas and content when challenged by clients and other Agency partners.
  • Be able to identify and present proprietary tools – and other outside-the-box ideas – that lead to incremental budget increases.
  • Present ideas to client and be comfortable being in meetings with key client partners.
  • Have experience managing and mentoring junior staff, helping to develop their creative skills and sensibilities.
