2D Motion Designer

Description

We are looking for a 2D Motion Designer with experience in UI/UX and video production. This person will be part of a diverse team responsible for inventing future experiences and crafting products for millions of people worldwide.  Our team designs everything in Microsoft’s devices portfolio, including Xbox, Surface, Surface Hub, HoloLens, and Accessories.

As a motion designer, you’ll assist in creating product videos that help tell software stories for Windows and software stories for Surface Devices. The ideal candidate has experience doing motion design for UI/UX. They should be highly comfortable in Illustrator, After Effects, and preparing UI assets for animation. Experience with Figma is a significant plus!

Requirements

• Preferred in the Seattle or Redmond area
• Availability 1-3 months

Responsibilities

• Meet with UI teams to understand the latest designs and help prepare the UI assets for animation and ability to create UI assets on the fly if something has not yet been designed
• Create a range of concepts to help communicate software stories
• Work with 3D animators and film directors to understand the timing of shots and ability to create UI animations that are perfectly timed
• Respond to and implement feedback at a fast pace

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma
• 5+ years UX/UI and motion design experience
• Experience working on CG + Live-action productions
• Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills
• Proven track record delivering excellent internal and external facing projects
• Ability to collaborate with various teams across engineering and beyond
