Motion Designer, Content Team - Remote Position

Anywhere Full Time

Position: Motion Designer for Content Team

School of Motion is looking for a talented Motion Designer to join our Content Team! This position is full-time, and you can work remotely and pantless for all we care.

We're looking for someone who can make really cool work, EXPLAIN how that work got made, and make sure our production standards are met. The role is Motion Design + Teaching + Production Support.

We’re gonna be straight-up: The position entails a good amount of grunt-work initially, helping us re-edit and re-format content for our brand spankin’ new platform (coming soon). We’d be counting on you to work with the team to get our old content ready for re-launch, as well as creating new content for our audience. You would also work with our Instructors to prep and package their content for courses that are being built. After the initial burst of content re-working, this position is probably 50% content management and 50% content production.

About you:

The ideal candidate lives and breathes MoGraph, is bi-dimensional (2D and 3D), and wants to throw themselves at the challenge of creating amazing Motion Design training via lessons, articles, podcasts, and courses.

You shouldn’t be shy, as you’ll eventually find yourself behind the mic and possibly even on-camera. You should be great at breaking down complex topics into understandable chunks, and you should enjoy the process of creating online training. Your work should be high-quality, and you should understand the basic principles of Design & Animation. Compositing / VFX chops are a bonus.

As this position can be remote (or move to Florida, it’s nice here) we need someone who can self-manage and stick to deadlines without being micromanaged.

And most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is fun, who shares our love of MoGraph, and who has a quirky sense of humor because… well, let’s just say our Slack channel has a lot of Giphy going on.

About School of Motion:

School of Motion was founded in 2013, and serves the Motion Design community. We help Motion Designers get to the next level, with training designed around the belief that you don’t need a degree and a decade of experience to become an effective MoGraph artist.

Our Work Environment:

Work wherever makes you feel good – we are a lightweight, remote team with contributors all over the world. Our operating hours are based on EST, but your work schedule is flexible. Pretty much all you need is a laptop. You'd be using tools like Trello, Slack, Dropbox, and Google Apps to produce content.

This is an opportunity for a flexible work schedule, and a chance to get in on the ground floor of a very fast-growing company that has aspirations to change the face of Motion Design education.
