Maya Animator
Revenant are looking to recruit a talented Maya Animator on a full-time, permanent basis. The position would ideally be local, working a hybrid of remote and studio based (Glasgow, Scotland), though we are also accepting applications for working fully remote.
You’ll be highly experienced in the creative industry, working across a variety of sectors from broadcast, film, games, and installations.
The role requires a skilled artist with 5+ years’ experience, with a broad background animating different types of characters and creatures.
You’ll be working directly alongside our Lead Animator to ensure the standard and quality of animation is consistently high. With thorough knowledge of Maya and the ability to find solutions to technical problems is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Quality controlling animation output on assigned projects.
- Feedback and managing technical challenges on projects alongside the Lead Animator and department Leads.
- Liaise with Production on task assignments and scheduling.
- Interpreting and communication with the wider team on creative feedback.
- Advanced level of character and vehicle keyframe animation.
- Knowledge of Mocap clean up.
- Advanced level of Facial capture implementation and polish.
- Full facial keyframe animation.
- Camera layout/previz.
- Scene caching and clean up.
- Accomplished examples of keyframe animation, both character acting and full body.
- Thorough knowledge of Maya is essential.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work interactively with Production and other departments to solve challenges.
- Knowledge of rigging.
- Experience animating creatures.
- Knowledge of cinematography.
- Strong understanding of the principles of animation, with a keen eye for character pose and staging.
- Experience working with and editing Mocap data.
- Experience of Maya camera sequencer a plus.
- Knowledge of Redshift a plus.
- Experience working with Maya Trax and blending animation clip data.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of basic real-world physics and their application for animation.
- 5+ years’ experience within the creative industry.
- Confident knowledge of creative workflows and pipelines.
